Session description:
We are heading for an increasingly water stressed world with a population of 9 billion people. We all need safe water, healthy food, energy for households and production and a sound environment. This depends on water, energy and strategies to achieve this in a sustainably – in the form of green growth.
This session, which is implemented in a cooperation between Asia-pacific, Americas and Europe will discuss how to use and develop water and energy sustainably and how to achieving green growth is linked to water.
The session will look key water challenges such as water for industries and production, water for cities and communities, water for agriculture and food production and water for energy. We will also discuss governance frameworks and policy implications.
The session will develop recommendations for inclusion of the water efficiency, water and energy and water and green growth in a future Sustainable Development Goal on Water.
